Abstract
2010 SASBMB CONGRESS CALL FOR ABSTRACTS
Abstracts of research results in all disciplines of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology are requested for submission for the forthcoming SASBMB Congress. Abstracts will be peer reviewed for scientific content and authors will be informed if the paper/poster is accepted or not by the 31 October 2009.
- Paper presentations will be 15 or 30 minutes with five minutes for discussion.You will be informed for which you have been selected
- Poster presentations will be a maximum of three (3) minutes with two (2) minutes for discussion. A limit of four slides can be shown with your presentation.
Immediately after the presentation session the group will move to the posters where further discussion can take place.

Abstract submissions will only be accepted in electronic format.

Please submit your abstract on line or by e-mail to Prof Derek Litthauer at litthad.sci@ufs.ac.za
- E-mail submissions must have “SASBMB Abstract” in the subject line.
- Abstract must be in English.
- Please format your abstract in Microsoft Word. The abstract must be attached, not included in the body of the e-mail.
- Select the following Page Setup:
- A4 paper size
- Top margin, 1.75cm
- Bottom margin, 2.0 cm
- Left margin, 2.5 cm
- Right margin, 2.0 cm
- Single line-spacing
- Your abstract may not exceed the above margins and you are limited to one page. (If your abstract does not fit into the above dimensions please adjust your wording accordingly).
- Title in bold capital letters (12 point Arial typeface) centred at the top of the page.
- Thereafter authors’ names and affiliations should be centred, in upper and lower case and in 12 point Times New Roman typeface and in bold.
- Underline the presenting author’s name.
- Thereafter type the body of the abstract using single spacing and in 12 point Times New Roman (not bold).
- Although the headings need not be included, the body of the abstract should contain the following: Introduction, Methods, Results and Conclusion. References are optional. Incomplete abstracts e.g. with “results to be provided later” will not be accepted.
- On a separate page, please state
- The presenting author’s title, first name, surname
- E-mail address, telephone- and fax numbers
- Title of abstract
Please indicate clearly if your presentation is a paper or poster.
Poster Size
84cm x 119cm i.e. A 0 size poster.
Please note that ONLY PORTRAIT POSTERS can be accommodated on the poster boards that will be supplied at the congress.
